Overview

The mission of Global Communities (formerly CHF International) is to create long-lasting, positive and community-led change that improves the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable people across the globe.

Global Communities is seeking experienced Short-Term Technical Experts for the anticipated USAID Sri Lanka Social Cohesion and Reconciliation project. The project will be designed to positively transform relationships across traditional lines of division and foster the development of a common national identity among all Sri Lankans by supporting institutions, processes and stakeholders at the national, sub-national and community level—strengthening Sri Lankan-led efforts to build a more inclusive, cooperative, and resilient society to promote longer term reconciliation and peace.

We are seeking short-term consultants with the following areas of expertise:

  • Social cohesion, reconciliation, and peacebuilding
  • Community-led social and economic development
  • Social inclusion, including gender integration and the inclusion of youth, people with disabilities, internally displaced persons, and other marginalized communities
  • Conflict sensitivity and Do No Harm methodologies

 

Possible STTA assignments include but are not limited to the following:

  • Capacity building
  • Training
  • Assessments

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • At least ten years’ experience working in sectors relevant to the project.
  • Experience working in Sri Lanka, South or Southeast Asia, and/or conflict-affected regions.
  • Experience with similar types of assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage constructively with government, civil society, and community stakeholders.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required; proficiency in Tamil and/or Sinhalese preferred.
