Overview

The mission of Global Communities (formerly CHF International) is to create long-lasting, positive and community-led change that improves the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable people across the globe.

Global Communities is seeking a Citizen Participation Manager for an anticipated 5 year, $10-15 million an USAID-funded project in Nicaragua. This activity will enable citizens to enhance local development through effective engagement and advocacy with local authorities and other relevant actors on community-driven needs utilizing pluralistic citizen participation

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, anthropology, sociology, psychology, humanities, social work or other related areas, plus at least one year of post-graduate education.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience supporting citizen participation, advocacy, and accountability activities focused on grass-root civic participation, demands for transparency, budget cycle and oversight and social audits.
  • Prior experience implementing development programs required, USAID programs preferred.
  • Prior experience implementing development programs in Central America, particularly Nicaragua, is preferred.
  • FSI Level 3/3 fluency in English and FSI Level 5/5 Spanish required.
