Overview

The mission of Global Communities (formerly CHF International) is to create long-lasting, positive and community-led change that improves the lives and livelihoods of vulnerable people across the globe.

Global Communities is seeking a Grants Manager for an anticipated 5 year, $10-15 million an USAID-funded project in Nicaragua. This activity will enable citizens to enhance local development through effective engagement and advocacy with local authorities and other relevant actors on community-driven needs utilizing pluralistic citizen participation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Manage a 5M-7.5M USAID grants-under-contract fund.
  • Supervise any grants staff involved in the application and awards process.
  • Ensure that USAID grants-under-contract function is compliant with USAID rules and regs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, law, sociology, engineering, economics, business or other related areas, plus at least one year of similar post-graduate education is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience setting-up and managing a USAID grants-under-contract or grants-under-grants function that involves local CSOs.
  • Minimum of 5 years work professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience applying USAID rules and regs to the grants process.
  • Demonstrated strong management skills to work with a range of technical staff, CSOs, private sector, media outlets, universities and other donors.
  • FSI Level 3/3 fluency in English and FSI Level 5/5 Spanish required.
