    Global Communities is seeking a Team Lead for the USAID-funded Up to Youth Activity, which will address youth vulnerable to social exclusion by mobilizing and engaging youth in meaningful ways to effect positive change. Over the five-year period, the Activity will work in selected target areas throughout Kosovo to mobilize youth to be forces for positive change, develop and demonstrate life/soft skills among youth and, develop, build and support resilience partners in fostering an environment for youth to engage in a positive and meaningful way.

    Responsibilities

    The Learning and Development Specialist will lead the creation and implementation of the activity’s youth development and life/soft skills component. Working in close coordination with other units, the Learning and Development Team Lead will:

     

    • Develop Learning curricula for youth
    • Select youth facilitators from each target community to attend the ToT.
    • Prepare and conduct ToT for the selected facilitators, in addition to evaluating them.
    • Mentor the teams of youth facilitators.
    • Design and supervise youth sessions (number of sessions /hours to be determined by the size and number of population of selected community).
    • Work with the Senior Learning Coordinator and the Field Learning Officers to guide youth facilitators through the preparation and conduct of youth sessions in their communities.
    • Develop and deliver learning sessions to build capacity of staff, partners and project beneficiaries.

    Qualifications

    • At least a Bachelor's degree in social studies, business, international development, or a related field.
    • At least five years of learning, development, and training experience required, with at least three years working with international assistance projects preferably USAID projects.
    • Demonstrated experience managing and implementing development projects focused on youth and community resilience, economic empowerment, preferably in the Balkans;
    • Demonstrated experience in working effectively in advance complex, politically sensitive activities;
    • Demonstrated experience in working effectively with partner and government representatives, donors and other stakeholders.
    • Experience with adaptive management approaches
    • Fluency in English and Albanian or other local language required.
