Overview

Global Communities is seeking an experienced Director, Monitoring and Evaluation for the anticipated USAID-funded Resiliency in Northern Ghana (RING) II program.  Funding for this program is expected to be in the range of 25M.  The purpose of the RING II - Systems Strengthening will be to strengthen service delivery systems in order to elicit the adoption of behaviors that promote nutrition and resilience of poor and food-insecure households in northern Ghana.

Responsibilities

The Director, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) will lead design and oversight to the monitoring, evaluation and learning activities of the project.  This will include leading a team to develop the project’s MEL plan, developing systems, strategies and tools for the timely collection, management, analysis, and reporting of valid and reliable data that meet donor reporting requirements. The MEL Director will contribute to project deliverables, including annual workplans, and quarterly and annual reporting, undertake periodic reviews of program and/or country M&E systems and lead design of M&E system strengthening actions and oversee the dissemination of information on approaches, lessons learned etc.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in statistics, research methods, or related field is strongly preferred.  BS in a related field is required.
  • At least 5 years Monitoring Evaluation and Learning experience in public health, nutrition, resilience, food security, local government services or related development projects required
  • Supervisor experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate technical information clearly and effectively and adjust indicator selection and targets as part of adaptive programming.
  • Experience in Ghana required, Experience in Northern Ghana is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relations with host country government personnel, stakeholders, NGO partners, and international donor agencies.
  • Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral presentation skills in English;
